Staying Connected: Our September School Visits
Every September, as students head back to school, our team hits the road to visit private and specialized schools across New England—and sometimes even farther afield, like Denver, Colorado. While we can’t visit every school, our goal is to see as many as possible each fall and throughout the school year. For schools that are too far to visit in person, we schedule virtual meetings with staff to gain a deeper understanding of their programs, student populations, and evolving initiatives.
Why These Visits Matter
There are two main reasons why our school visits are so important.
First, as experts in specialized school placements, we need to stay up to date on which student profiles and diagnoses each school serves, the composition of their current cohorts, and any new programming or initiatives underway. Maintaining strong relationships with admissions teams and school leaders helps us better support you. If your child requires an out-of-district placement in a specialized school, our firsthand knowledge and connections mean we can identify appropriate options and guide you through the complex placement process with confidence.
Second, by staying informed about the latest programs in highly specialized schools, we’re able to bring that expertise back to your local public schools. These specialized environments often pilot and refine innovative approaches long before they reach broader settings. Our goal is to ensure our clients benefit from the most effective, evidence-based practices available—whether in a specialized or public school environment.
