Educational Consultation
The EmpowerED Start Package is designed for families seeking clarity and direction in their child’s education journey. This foundational service includes a thorough review of your child’s educational records (including IEPs, evaluations, and school communications), a personalized consultation with one of our experienced advocates, and a customized Next Steps Document outlining actionable recommendations and strategies tailored to your child’s unique needs.
Relocation Services

What does a special education advocate do?
A special education advocate helps parents secure the right services and support for a child with disabilities. At EmpowerED Consulting Group, we review IEPs and 504 plans, prepare you for school meetings, attend those meetings with you, and hold the district accountable so your child gets an appropriate education.
What happens in an IEP or 504 plan review?
We read your child's current IEP or 504 plan closely and flag what's missing: vague goals, gaps in services, and compliance problems. You get a written summary and a clear action plan in plain language, so you know exactly what to ask the school for and why.
Can you join my child's IEP meeting?
Yes. We build a meeting plan with you, then join the IEP or 504 meeting alongside you, in person or by video, to keep it focused, ask the right questions, and make sure agreements and timelines get written down. If you would rather go in alone, we coach you beforehand so you walk in ready.
What if my child needs an out-of-district placement?
When a local district cannot meet your child's needs, we help you build the case for an out-of-district placement. We gather the evaluations and progress data, draft the placement request, represent you in mediation as trained mediators, and support you through cost, transportation, and the move to a specialized program.
Do you help families who are moving or relocating?
Yes. Relocating with a child who has an IEP adds real complications. We help you organize records before the move, register with the new district, push for comparable services, and head off the service gaps that often happen during a transfer, so your child keeps getting support without interruption.
Do you work with families in other states?
Yes. Much of our work happens online, so we partner with families in a growing number of states across the country. We review documents, plan strategy, and join IEP and 504 meetings by video. From our home base near Boston, we also meet families in person around Greater Boston and the North Shore.
